DIY Gift Bag

We had a white elephant gift exchange at my work and we were also celebrating one of the post-docs in my lab leaving for bigger better things. Celebrating isn't the right word, as she is going to be greatly missed and it was a hard leave for her as well, but alas, tis life.

I put together a few things for her on behalf of the lab, but I realized too late that I didn't have an appropriate gift bag for the white elephant gift, nothing Christmas related or festive enough, so I had to improvise.

I had bought a handful of plain bags a while back and I also had a ton of bows that I have been using slowly, but not fast enough. If I put the two together...

Voila, my very festive gift bag!

Yes, I think it works and I think I like it. What an earth shattering idea I tell you, just earth shattering!!!

Merry Christmas

To all those celebrating, Merry Christmas. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with family and friends, wherever you may be.

I have taken 2 whole weeks off from life (ha!) and I'm spending it with family. Although, there is much to prepare for next quarter (I have tons to read), I am procrastinating to the core. No surprise there.

I spent the day with one of my favorite people in the world, my moms cousin.  It was a lovely day and a wonderful Christmas.  Although as a muslim, I don't celebrate Christmas, we still join in on the festivities to celebrate it with those that do.  I have fun getting presents for others and enjoying all the beautiful lights and decorations everywhere.  My favorite part of the holiday though: family time (let me also add: no traffic anywhere)!

Will you please just let me sleep...thank you!

It was a beautiful cold rainy day in San Francisco.

Merry Christmas!!

Present Preps

The day before Christmas was spent with last minute gift preparations :) I made some little tags as well for some of the gifts. There's something to be said about beautiful paper and colorful ribbon.  It makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, especially on a cold rainy day.
