Dinner on the balcony

After a very long and frustrating day on Sunday, we decided to relax a bit by having dinner on our balcony.  It was taco night, 3 nights in a row (haha...we're bad I know).

Southern California has been having very strange weather over the past couple days for the month of July.  It has been cloudy, rainy and hot.  It other words, it has been HUMID. Yuck!  The weather has been so strange that it has been mentally and physically exhausting me.  No motivation to eat, exercise, or even do work.  I can't seem to get enough sleep either.  I've been in lab, but my brain has been on pinterest, twitter, and amazon all day.  I'm looking forward to this weekend and just staying in and relaxing.  Although, I will have to go to lab on Sunday...but I'm not going to think about it till later :)

If Fruit was Human

What if you looked like a kiwi or a banana?  What if you had hips as big as a watermelon?  This is a nice depiction/reminder to appreciate our inner beauty and sweetness and not focus so much on our exterior.  Not that it doesn't matter, but sometimes you can't change how you were born.  Embrace it! Love it! Appreciate it!  

Jewelry Organization

I love jewelry, what girl doesn't.  Well, I know a few, but that's besides the point.  For those jewelry lovers that have too much (yes, you know who are...cough, me!) there has to be better ways to store/organize them.  I had a post a few months back (DIY Necklace Organizer) to help organize necklaces, but what about the other stuff...bracelets, rings, earrings, scarf pins (if you're a hijabi).  It's always nice to have everything all in one place, so you know what you have and can find other pieces to match (rather than rummage through numerous boxes, thinking you might have something when you really don't).  But, if they are all organized together, life is simple.  Well, here are some great ideas that I've collected over the last few months.

This is what I really want.  A standing mirror that turns into a secret jewelry armoire.  What could be better??  It's all there for you to see at once, with easy access behind a mirror, while safe from the elements as well (my pet peeve).  Sigh...someday you shall be mine...someday!!!

Crissy Field - San Francisco

I made a quick visit up to see my parents for the weekend as my aunt was visiting from out of the country.  It was too short as always and as always too hard to come back, but nonetheless it was great to see everyone.
